Which means if ADHD is impaired by comorbid symptoms all an nhs adhd specialist can do is refer you for treatment & hope your gatekeeping community team won’t reject you.(Which still adds months to a mh review.) (And I know how lucky and the ghoices I made to be able to have an NHS specialist.)

Jonny Kiehlmann @kiehlmann.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
Ten-fifteen-twenty years agk ADHD patients were treated by general community mh teams. You might be sent to a specialist to confirm dx, but in general, your care would happen in community space. Now community teams won’t see patients with adhd but specialists still only contracted for ltd care

It might be how baddmy l.a. is but I’ve been unable to access mh care because the local mh team say I am functionjng well. Without communicating with me to ascertain. While I’ve bern out of work 2.5 yrs from depression. Terrible local service aside, this relates to ADHD issues

The amount by which my ability to access care on the NHS, due to my ADHD and nhs decline in treatment/care for it, has dropped in the last decade is horrific. Speaking as someone treated on the NHS for adhd for over 26 years

Jonny Kiehlmann @kiehlmann.bsky.social · 09/10/2026
The really distressing part of this —speaking as someone treated continually on the NHS for ADHD for over twenty-six years — is how much NHS care for ADHD has actively declined in the last decade. With the explosion of diagnoses, I’ve seen NHS generalist mH teams refuse to care for ADHD patients

i do think part of the reason a lot of american politics is Like That is that they are a phenomenally incurious society. and that in turn emerges from the nature of suburbia, and a fortress mindset. that's also why their cars are Like That and why they still have 1950s opinions on British food

This AI discourse is amazing. "We've created this very dangerous thing, based largely on the mass theft of labour, that we should stop developing" - okay, so that means that you should be treated like social and economic vandals, not revered as sages on podcasts.

What about instances where not using their chosen title ... not using a nickname. I am not aware of Danny going by Mr Tommo, because that sobriquet is of a different tone of formality, and so referring to him as Mr Thomas would seem in line with referring to Mr Robinson as such?

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

One thing that's noticeable in BBC news output over the last few years isn't necessarily a decline in the quality of the basic journalism, but increasingly sloppy editing. (You can see it at a more basic level - typos getting through that would previously have been picked up, mislabelled maps etc.)
