They WANT the public sector stretched to breaking point. They WANT the health system to collapse. They WANT us to be struggling with inaccessible and unaffordable homes. THEY’RE rich enough to avoid feeling the consequences, but they’re counting on US to notice. And to get despondent.

They are introducing some of the most dangerous legislation possible for disabled people like the DSS Bill, Man & Woman Bill, and Jobseeker Support & Accommodation Supplement Bill & saying “just trust us” while they are cutting Total Mobility and 16.4% of the already tiny Ministry of Disabled People

But they deliberately choose to cut initiatives and agencies that do that and save us money overall, knowing full well that replacing those jobs with AI will enshittify the experience so much that kiwis will stop looking to the govt & be forced to resort into private companies.

They KNOW that investment in a strong public service, public health and harm prevention, equity in education, housing, and justice all might cost money up front but that it improves our wellbeing, productivity, and economy as a whole country.

It’s time we called it what it is. They are being intentionally irresponsible with OUR money so that we get frustrated at the failing public system and they can justify privatising everything with big contracts (handouts) to their rich corporate mates.

We’ve aimed to integrate a human rights approach throughout our draft strategic plan (which is now with members for input) & definitely have included in the thinking and groundwork for this campaign. But we haven’t put together a separate paper specifically on HR approach-is that what you mean?

Absolutely vile. I remember a lot of problems in the years I was living in the Auckland CBD and this was absolutely not one of them. The only time I saw things escalate were when cops or asshole passers by antagonised homeless people who are just trying to get by.

I just watched a TikTok of a German woman in the US who had the opportunity to talk to her great grand parents and ask why people voted for AH. They responded with a lot of the same reasons people say they voted for DT. The playbook is undeniably the same.
