When flagship Radio4 news show (Today) runs an excited report on a previous night's BBC TV programme, that's the point that: a) You know the BBC is editorially fucked b) The point anyone with no interest in that programme switches off in despair/disgust. tldr: I couldn't care less about 'Traitors'

So when Mark Zuckerberg giddily insisted that 'we'd all have AI agents handling our diaries and tasks in five years' this is what he had in mind? This tsunami of enshittification? Ooooh, I can't hardly wait. Thanks Zuck!

How to stop rogue companies such as OpenAI blowing up the world? Force them to take out liability insurance - if they can find anyone to take on their catastrophic risks. We saw a great, über-emotional scene between new world champion Brandon McNulty and his USA team mate Matteo Jorgensen and then the joy was sucked out of the TV screen when, enter stage left, Mauro Gianetti gatecrashed the party. Meh.

BBC tv cycling world road race commentary team can't bring themselves to say the name 'Lance Armstrong' in case he suddenly appears in the comms booth, like some evil spirit. They can only say, 'The USA last won the men's road race in 1993.' Come on guys...it's OK.

Why in the name of god are there Mexican riders on the front of the men's bunch riding tempo behind the early morning suicide break? There's 245km to go and they're wasting energy that their man Del Toro will certainly need when the race reaches the Montreal city circuit. Seems...daft.

It's not an argument against 'billionaire wealth tax,' I'd say it was an argument against billionaires, full stop. A billion? A billionaire? Someone with *one* thousand million dollars. There is no comparison between a millionaire and billionaire, they're not even close.

Hard to imagine we'll get a better finale in the men's race tomorrow than the one the women just served up in Montreal. When a rainbow jersey is on the line, the intensity and commitment of the attacks is unmatched in cycling - you wear the arc-en-ciel for a year. Demi Vollering a worthy champion.

Poor Cuba. Having had its fleet pushed back by the threat of Iranian missiles then refused to offer Saudi allies missile cover and abandoned its bombed out bases in the Emirates, the USA is going to give Cuba a kicking because Trump's ego is bruised.

I'm pretty sure there are very strict rules in Japan about the street parking of cars. Basically, you can't do it. We couldn't ever enforce that kind of regulation in Scotland though, right? I mean, where would all the cars go? (If say, parking was suspended for roadworks). LOL.

Posting on social media about NYC opening 18 public toilets and now filling in potholes. Strikes me as good politics, since this is precisely the stuff that everyone experiences every day. It's cheap, but I bet it works -- small improvements in the quality of life for people in ways they notice.

What? An un-budgeted $38 Billion dollar war? It's going to cost $3 Billion dollars a month?! Oh no, where will the money come from? If it wasn't costed won't this bankrupt the US? Where *will* the Federal Bank find the money? Oh, right, it'll just 'print' it. Always money for wars, amirite?

Watched Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal on l'Equipe TV and the French commentators were beyond excited when Paul Sexais was up for the win. Their disbelief when he fell asleep with 300m to go was palpable. Anyway, everyone knows EF's Ben Healy was the 'real' winner, not that Del Toro fella! Haha.
