Katie Grote @katiegrote.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Yes, I know exactly what you mean! It seems like SF does this sort of stuff in bike lanes all the time, like they just paint green stripes on the road and expect cars and bikes to know how to merge safely with cars trying to turn and going 40 mph 010
Katie Grote @katiegrote.bsky.social · 12/09/2026This city’s bike infra still leaves a lot to be desired, but this city truly used to be a death trap for cyclists 000
Katie Grote @katiegrote.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Basically they built the bike lane because the panhandle path was (still is) at capacity. Also there used to only be a (janky, unprotected) lane along Fell, so if you biked into GGP and then wanted to go home (like you do!), you had to bike through crazy traffic on Oak and just pray 220

Katie Grote @katiegrote.bsky.social · 28/08/2026In SF it is totally a cultural thing that all the ebike riders ask each other about their ebikes while they’re waiting together at the light. Katie Grote @katiegrote.bsky.social · 23/08/2026First of all, this fight has not “deeply divided” Sunset residents. We live in the Sunset and everyone we know loves the park.
