Just so it's clear where England stands right now. The lady in the photo below, retired vicar Sue Parfitt, who is 84 years old, is considered a terrorist and was arrested 6th July. The masked group in the photo below are not considered terrorists & were allowed to roam freely.

Sue is 84 years old and was seated peacefully at an anti-genocide Palestine Action protest. There's another protestor visible in the photo. There are also 4 police officers.

Since 1980, under the Thatcherite policies, 2.8m social homes sold, 1.9m in England for £51bn. In 2024, England homes were worth £430bn. Councils didn't receive full sales proceeds, couldn't replenish housing stock. Vital depts closed. Social homes down from 6.8m to 5.4m. Huge housing crisis.

People like Kane and many many others that do care about human art and the creative process have been a beacon of hope while trying to navigate making art in this current climate.
CBS MORNINGS ON YOUTUBE (JUNE 4, 2026)

Interviewer: I read that you do not want to embrace Al.

Kane: Absolutely not.

For me the whole point of doing what I'm doing-art is a way of processing life. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that.

When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.

I published a collection of short horror stories, inspired by 20th century radio shows like The Witch's Tale, television series like The Twilight Zone, and classic horror films. I think it's great, and so do other clever people in the know. I'd love for you to read it, too. Links below 👇🏻
The cover for the book A Row of Open Graves (And Nine Other Stories Of A Macabre Persuasion) which shows an illustration of open graves with a beam of yellow torchlight illuminating the purple bodies laying in them, along with a spade. The book title and author name are also in purple. Cover design by Ray Newman. Set against a red background.Against a red background, two quotes from reviews of the book:

"Quintessentially British ghost stories...like a modern update of M.R. James or Tales of the Unexpected, these stories are full of charming oddities and twisted secrets." (David Sodergren)

"Evans' attention to detail when establishing the worlds of these stories is unmatched... Each story reads like a love letter."
