Flat illustration of a Mourning Dove, Blue Jay, and Chipping Sparrow each holding a fall leaf in their beak and walking in a parade-like manner. This is my US (eastern) version of last year's UK-focused illustration!

One thing about people citing slower car travel times on Bloor West following the bike lane install is, well, that was kind of the point. Drivers were **averaging** nearly 20 km/h over the current speed limit at spots. Road revamp has brought speeds closer to limit. www.toronto.ca/wp-content/u...
Two bar charts comparing average and 95th percentile vehicle speeds in km/h across five Toronto locations over three time periods (2021/23, 2024, 2025/26), with a posted speed limit of 40 km/h indicated by a dotted line.

The time is nigh. All out to save our bike lanes! We anticipate removals staring this coming Tuesday. Stay tuned here for details on community responses. Location is of course Bloor West between Islington and Royal York. Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more.

I'm not much of a photographer and mostly take pictures of insects and plants for IDing. But I got a couple of nice bird pictures recently. A yellow rumped warbler and a white throated sparrow. Both are moving through Toronto on their way south. #birding #torontobirding #birdmigration

Taken at Sunnyside beachA grey and brown streaky little bird with a white throat, dark eye stripe and a bit of yellow between their eyes. They are standing on a branch among some foliage. Taken at Humber Bay park east.

Happy #internationalrabbitday. I love rabbits and paint them a lot.
A painting of a brown furred rabbit hiding under a tree root beside a moonlit pond. Coming from the sky is a parade of ghost white and blue rabbits. A painting of a lop eared brown and white rabbit sleeping in a loaf. She is surrounded by her favourite foods, lettuce, apple, blueberries and grass hay. A painting of a brown furred wild looking rabbit in some green foliage. A painting of a brown fluffy rabbit on a brown mat on a floor. Around them is a small bed, stacking toy cups, black slippers and a tiny plate with banana slices.

In case you were curious how similar the Great Egret and Great Blue Heron are in size, these two lined up perfectly for comparison. Apparently it was a desirable fishing spot #birds 🌿
A large gray heron stands in shallow wetlands, looking down towards the water. A large white after stands behind it in almost the same pose they are very similar in size. The heron’s beak is bigger and chunkier.

Ontarians are facing an unprecedented foreign threat and increasing cost of living challenges. But by attacking protected bike lanes, Doug Ford wants to waste millions of taxpayer dollars to make it more expensive for more people to get around. Make it make sense!
