Per Maddow — Musk likely had the FAA director fired because the FAA grounded SpaceX when his rocket blew up. It rained debris, putting people in danger and causing flights to be redirected. They tried to hold him accountable. He bought Trump, Trump complies. We’re all less safe because of it.

I grew up in a military family and saw first-hand a number of commanding officers who had to take responsibility for crashes that happened on their watch, even though they didn't cause it. And they certainly hadn't caused FAA staffing issues and fired the head of it. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.

Smol tip from an elected. As a general rule we do not like to be on the wrong side of our constituents. Some are absolutely so removed that calls never filter up to them, but the vast majority of even the top level do pay attention when their staff are getting buried in angry calls. It works.
