Two panel comic. Panel 1: a pair of paleontologists are standing in front of a set of four fossilized dinosaur tracks on the ground in a diamond shape. One paleontologist exclaims, “what a bizarre track formation!” The other replies, “what could it mean?” Panel 2: a deinonychus is playing Dance Dance Revolution on the classic arcade setup in the middle of the Cretaceous period. He is scoring crazy points and his friends, a ceratopsid and spinosaurid are watching excitedly.

Book Cover of the Day:
Les chauves-souris, clairs-obscurs, Robert Montesquiou-Fézensac, 1892.
The cover features a repeating pattern of dark bats and small stars on a light, textured background. This central design is framed by a decorative border of intertwining vines with leaves and purple flowers.

Gold bracelets of King Ramesses II. Decorated with two little duck heads. 🦆 🦆 😍 Body lapis lazuli. Dynasty 19. Reign of Ramesses II, 1279-1212 BC. Found in a hoard of jewels, gold and silver plate, during railway construction at Tell Basta (Bubastis) in 1906. NMEC, Cairo. 📷 by me #Archaeology
My photos show two gold bracelets, each formed by two semi-circles connected by a hinge and a clip. They have rich granulated ornamentation in a series of geometric patterns. The upper part is decorated with relief heads of two ducks with necks bent forwards and resting on a single body created with lapis lazuli. The tail is decorated with small granules of gold. The cartouches of Ramesses II are engraved next to the fastener (not seen). Max diameter 7.2 cm. Dated Nineteenth Dynasty, Reign of Ramesses II, 1279-1212 BC. Discovered in 1906 with a hoard of jewels and gold and silver plate at Tell Basta (Bubastis) during railway construction works. On display at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo.

Another #Swordtember Overgrown gothic. Found in the ruins of a temple to a long-forgotten god, the blade seems to be made from the same stone as the building. This stone holds an edge unlike anything I’ve seen, and the blade is still sharp. #HumanArtist

Alexandria 5x7" ink on claybord, 2021
a scratchboard artwork
on the lower portion of the image, we can see the tiled rooftops of medieval houses - in the bottom left corner, a little character wearing a black coat and a floppy little hat is sitting on top of a roof
far in distance, a huge castle rises above the scene, four towers on the very top of the castle seem to be supporting a giant, gleaming obelisk
behind the castle, in the sky, a giant winged creature comprised of round turrets and rotundas emerges from the clouds

Mike (c. 1908[1] – January 1929) was a cat who guarded the gates of the British Museum and was so famed that Time magazine devoted two articles to him on his death Mike spent twenty years at the British Museum during which time he gained a certain notoriety for his misogynistic and cynophobic tendencies, resisting all fraternisation with women and expressing a dislike for dogs. Mike would only accept food from those "who treated him as a man and brother".[citation needed]
