The administration has found yet another way to fuck with solar power.

The USDA just made it way harder for farmers to get grants for solar
Even farmers who were already promised funds from the REAP program may never get them under the Trump admin’s new restrictions. Some are suing.

I've been covering the death penalty in depth for a dozen years now, and few nights have been as disturbing and dispiriting as tonight. This was a moral, ethical, and legal failure on several different fronts from many different actors. It wasn't *just* SCOTUS, though they sure were a key part.

After SCOTUS allowed Tennessee execution to go ahead, Tennessee botched the execution
SCOTUS, over the liberals’ dissent, cleared the way for Tennessee to kill Christa Pike. The alarming order from DC was followed by even more disturbing developments in Tennessee.

Patrick is a stone cold freak for dropping writing this good into the intro of what is a useful, but fairly formulaic Game 2 preview format: www.baseballprospectus.com/news/article...
There’s an element to sports that sportswriters never weary of trying to capture, hacking through the kudzu of metrics and quotations to get at. It’s the paradox of a sense of overwhelming immortality, mixed with a sense of how fleeting that omnipotence is. Athletes hypnotize themselves into attaining it, fans slurp at it like a shallow oasis in the desert, writers build entire novels constructing a world to provide it. The Boston Red Sox lost a pair of games to the Washington Nationals by 15 runs around the end of June, and then seized that invincibility and held it for more than five full weeks, enjoying a run almost unparalleled in the history of baseball. It was like snorting cocaine while on a runner’s high after finding out you’d aced a college final and fallen in love, all at the same time.

Unfortunately, that time happened to be July, and by the end of September it was a happy memory. Baseball took that perfect month and chewed away at it with its sharp little teeth, as it always does, pulling at hamstrings and snapping bones. And on Tuesday, the capricious and hateful gods of baseball took it and provided it to one Ben Rice, handed him the thunderbolts to strike the heroes down. For one day it was the Yankees who were invincible, led by the league’s best pitcher and a hitter whose resting face might best be described as vague concern, even as their captain stood with his elbows on the dugout railing. The New York Yankees are now, today and only today, the greatest team in baseball. But maybe not tomorrow. The gods need fresh meat.

Screenshot of a September 28, 2026, post on ex-Twitter by right-wing foreign policy analyst, professor, author and former Trump Department of Defense senior policy adviser Matthew Koenig, showing the lobby of the US State Department adorned with 200 American flags:

“The US State Department lobby used to display the flags of the roughly 200 countries with which the US maintains diplomatic relations. Now, it displays 200 American flags, to remind State Department employees who they work for.”

Last year, RFK Jr accepted $4 million* from Tony Lyons, who is now literally selling access to RFK Jr -- at $300K a pop -- to companies that have business before HHS, RFK Jr's agency. *in "book advances" news.bloomberglaw.com/health-law-a...
Ahead of the MAHA Summit on Sept. 29, a menu of sponsorship options was circulated to companies and consultants with various tiers of support, according to people
familiar with the solicitations who weren’t authorized to speak publicly. The highest level, quoted at $300,000 to some prospective sponsors, guaranteed a speaking slot
at the event “with meaningful input on the panel composition and topic” as well as a “private dinner for 30 guests” with Kennedy and Mehmet Oz, head of the Centers for
Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The event presenter, MAHA Center, is part of a web of interconnected groups run by Tony Lyons, Kennedy’s longtime book publisher. Lyons co-founded a political action
committee that supported Kennedy’s failed 2024 presidential bid and is now affiliated with several organizations leading the Make America Health Again movement,
including a PAC and nonprofits.
