I once heard Tom Stoppard at a foreign policy conference. He was a warm-up speaker to someone important. Of the 15 minutes he had, 14 he spent on the introduction. Then, realizing his time was up, ended abruptly. And yet this is the speech I remember. Not the polished one by the ‘important’ speaker.

Writing about Russia these days: multiple links do not open in multiple EU MS. Others run v slowly& intermittently. And some of my old favorite articles by Russian writers are simply no longer where they used to be: links gone dead. Compliance with the Kremlin’s ‘undesirable’ designations, I guess.
