#HorrorWritersChat Hmm...sort of did this with Winter. Same pianist from above is trapped and forced to play his favorite, but Winter is for violins. He has to write a piano version of it or he can say goodbye to the rest of his fingers.

#HorrorWritersChat First thought that comes in mind is that any horror would go screaming away when Mozart enters – either because of the music, either because of the poop jokes. Also more of a tragedy, but maybe the last night of Tchaikovsky vs ghosts of his past.

#HorrorWritersChat Music to remember, to forget, to control, to make someone insane, to lure the prey, to reject, to hurt, to heal, etc. The effects are quite versatile of course, but I can’t say the descriptions do the trick. Best you can do is play with the rhythm/sounds of the words, but still...

#HorrorWritersChat I wish but that’s so hard. Words are too rough to describe music and its influence correctly. I’ve wrote a story about a pianist forced to play Islamey with one broken finger, and in my WIP there’s someone whose music makes everyone trapped in their body.

#HorrorWritersChat Hi! Still working on my horror-comedy, and when I write I listen to anything epic in the background. Otherwise, metal, folk, music movies, and a little bit of everything if that’s orchestral and/or sung.

- darkness in all senses: we don’t know why, who, how, what’s the threat until it’s too late - genuineness under the melodrama: the narrator is very human and realistic among the horrors

#Septopolis Heroes must protect the citizens from natural disasters and/or villains. No, they really have to. It’s the only job they’re allowed to. Those who hide their powers and try to live a normal life are illegal and categorized as villains. You might see a few problems about that.

#PretendPanel Sept 26th Goodbye, September! Earlier this month, I finally debuted the print version of my YA fantasy novel THE GODS OF ATALANTIS (part 1). Buy it here! bookshop.org/p/books/the-... I'm so proud of this stupid thing, I still can't believe it exists. Now... to finish parts 2 and 3! 😅
Cover of THE GODS OF ATALANTIS, designed by me. The bottom half shows a girl with long flowing hair sleeping in a fetal position, wrapped up in flowing cloths; she is painted in shades of light to dark blue, and her flowing hair and cloths are reminiscent of ocean waves. At the top, upside down, a boy with curly hair and a tattoo on his arm is also sleeping in a fetal position, wrapped up in cloths; he is painted in golds and reds, like the sun. The two of them mirror each other almost like yin & yang, with the title written between them in shining reddish-gold letters. A reddish-gold border frames the cover, and each corner features a small symbol: a marigold flower, a phoenix, an orange & blue striped fish, and a wolf. Along the left and right sides of the border, pale bluish-white crystals are growing. Along the bottom the author's name EMILY KLOTZ is written in the same reddish-gold letters.

#Dogwood1 is coming out in November and I'll have preorder links up on Tuesday! Also I do have two other books. It's been a very sluggish summer of sales, and they're such good stories I really ought to do better by them and try to market. #PretendPanel www.amazon.com/stores/Aud-C...
Wings in the Valley is a high fantasy in which two fauns and a harpy must save their homeland from a dragon. It features a non-human, polyamory, low heat, enemies-to-parents romance, and cover art by Arden Powell. (The cover is the silhouettes of 2 fauns and a harpy against ancient ruins, flamed by squash vines and grapevines, with the shadow of a dragon behind the title.)

The Consort and I is a m/m court romance with a slash of treason! (And some explicit sex scenes.) The cover is by The Author Buddy.
