there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.

It can be easy to become too laser-focused on something in life. Not just a goal, but maybe a tragedy, or a sudden fortunate thing, or even simple things like getting stuck in traffic. There are many people as an adult that you'll meet that have the “high schiool mentality”. Popular people that remember the parties and friends they had but don't maintain those relationships. People who had more active metabolisms and can't leave behind the memories and deal with their new, current “normal”.

There's nothing for you back there, in the memories of the past. Nothing worthwhile, anyway. At least dreams are new and in the present, regardless of how impossible they may seem to reach.

Not all decisions should be answered with “yes”. An honest decision requires you to really think about the consequences of what you're trying to do, for better AND for worse. If you can't handle the price, you may be better off taking a step back, at least for the time being.

Similarly, there will be other people that look at what you're trying to do and will try to warn you away from it. It can be hard, but many times this will come from people you care about, and they'll do so to try and keep you from getting hurt. Oftentimes, you have to be willing ignore them and go through Hell for what's best for you in the long term.

You may reach a level of success where fame follows. It's extremely important not to let any of it go to your head. You can't do the work because you want other people to like you or think of you in some way. You have to do it because you love the work, or at least the end result of the work as itself. Change is important, but it's also important to know who you are now and who you're becoming. And sometimes who you become is really who you always were. And maybe you were unsure at the time, but in the end, you'll know.

When people wonder why food safety investigations try to keep information private until the investigation is complete, this is one reason why. Taco Bell did the right thing but it's being penalized for *what its supplier did*. That's not a good incentive to cooperate when future outbreaks occur.

You can tell which kids were raised in museums and which in mudpits when you see them operate as adults. In my experience, when leadership says these things, they tend not to appreciate, "yeah? Why don't we find out what our audience wants then?" Because *they* don't want it. It's just what they think and it's not actually based on any research or testing. You can find out what players want!
