What alternatives can we fund by scrapping Britain’s nukes? ㅤ CND's new #PeopleNotNukes campaign shows that by halting the replacement of Britain’s nuclear weapons, the government could release £240 billion of public funds into the economy over the next 30 years. #TUC26 Some examples 👇
Graphic with CND logo. People not Nukes. Public services are at breaking point.
A cost-of-living crisis is looming. Climate breakdown is destroying our planet. Scrapping Britain’s nuclear weapons system would release £240 billion over the next 30 years. Redirecting this money to where it is really needed would make the world safer and transform our society for the better.

You're right. However, if Councils were required to have formal policies, then it would be difficult for them to fob off formal complaints about them not following their own policies. At the moment, they can just say 'we've assessed the situation and we needed to do x, y, z' for 'a, b,c reasons'.

Think this issue is one for the Welsh Govt's forthcoming Climate and Nature Action Plan. Councils need to have formal policies in place on mowing, planting and watering, having consulted experts.
