This is v sad. My love goes out to her family She campaigned tirelessly for the terminally ill to have the right to choose how & when they pass away It’s especially sad becuase she herself didn’t get to make that choice. She’s at peace now. But it didn’t have to be this way I hope the law changes

The rush to speculate that asylum seekers are responsible for every crime in the news is a sort of opportunistic informational terrorism. Until it’s disproved it stokes fear and hatred. When it is disproved there are no adverse consequences and they know that they only have to be lucky once.

I do find this country mad. Anyone can see that social care is in a state of devastating crisis in this country and that it is the key source of the NHS crisis as well. There is no feasible way to solve it without everyone contributing. Burnham is honest about that and is already getting pelters.

An actual diagnosis made by professionals is the only way to get PIP and the only way to get much needed, but massively under resourced help A diagnosis also often leads to feeling relief. That the things that are hard or even impossible are not your fault So yes, it’s very helpful

Lots of talk of growth ahead of the Budget, as if it were a baroque puzzle. Our problem is basic. It's that we no longer support the things which facilitate growth: Europe, immigration, higher education, tax simplification, policy stability. Reason for this are many & varied 1. Drs are more likely to brush off your medical concerns as anxiety/ psychiatric symptoms 2. Point 1. puts you off going to the Dr for other things 3. Mental health saps your energy & motivation - so it’s harder to get an appointment with your GP
