Back on my favourite patch this morning. a flock of about 500 Black Tailed Godwits, small flock of Knots, a Bar-Tailed Godwit, Peregrine Falcon, Kestrel, Marsh Harrier, Ringed Plover, Dunlin , Ruff , Lapwing, Snipe, Oystercatchers, Stonechats, Sand Martins, Swallows, House Martins etc #birdingwales

A great day was had yesterday by all those who attended the GOS outdoor event at WWT Slimbridge, led by Dave Brassey. Over 50 species seen- highlights - Little Stint, Golden Plover, White-fronted Geese, Water Rails and lots of Swans.

The first meeting of the Wood Warblers at Goytre House Wood, our nature reserve, was held today. Volunteers cleared vegetation around tree saplings, planted in 2022. Bird and bat boxes were mapped in preparation for activities next year. The weather was very kind to us. #birdingwales #gwentbirds

The arrival breaks all modern records for the species, which has been rapidly increasing across Western Europe in recent years and bred in Britain for the first time in 2022. On Monday 8 September, a staggering minimum of 605 ibis were recorded across Britain and Ireland.

A pleasent evening watching the rising tide at Peterstone, Gwent, turned a little manic in the final minutes before the mud was covered, when looking through the Redshank flock I found a Marsh Sandpiper, ooossh, County 1st!!!! Manage to relocate the bird about 45 mins later
