My middle school computer class literally spent months teaching us how to check our work and our citations. This was pre iPhone, pre laptops in class. And we were kids writing essays about The Hunger Games!!

"GLP-1’s have revolutionized weight loss because of their ability to quiet hunger cues and limit appetite. This also happens to be what makes them so dangerous for people with eating disorders." I'm really glad people are talking about this. As someone with disordered eating, I'm freaked out.

Censoring depictions of regular degular "sexual gratification" is especially irritating because it implies that sexuality is a big bad scary thing we don't talk about and need to hide. It's absurd. Puritanism won't stop people engaging with porn, it just shames anyone who does.

She was the epitome of glamour in this movie. The scene where she dances in the bridal shop lives rent free in my mind. As a kid I was in awe of her (still am).

Many people I know wouldn't be alive if not for their medications. I certainly wouldn't still be here. I'm disgusted we're letting a con artist whose anti-vaxx nonsense has already gotten people killed now try to goad you into trying to stop the meds that are keeping you alive.

This is AWFUL and should get national press.

Neither of the Makoka brothers has been accused of or charged with a crime. Their immigration status was in good form as late as fall of last year. They are, by all accounts, model students and athletes at Hancock High School in Kiln, Mississippi, having recently transferred from the Piney Woods Country Life School in Rankin County. Now, they are in ICE custody, on track for deportation. Gail Baptiste, their host mother, was still in the bedroom when her granddaughter sprinted in.

“Nana,” she said, “they have the boys.”

I was a voracious reader as a kid and as a result had a pretty vast vocabulary for my age. Did I always deploy the words correctly? No, with pretty funny results at times, but I was a little sponge. My essays reflected that. Thankfully my teachers encouraged me rather than assuming I was cheating.

Leaving Neverland is one of the most nauseating documentaries I’ve ever seen, and the fact that it’s no longer available to watch is a shame. The Michael Jackson Estate is vile and their smearing and silencing of his victims is horrific.

Crazy that in the span of Matt Bomer’s career, he’s seen such a change in the reception for queer projects and actors. I remember his story about being passed over for Superman because of his sexuality despite being, you know, LITERALLY SUPERMAN.

it’s almost like AI slop made with stolen IP is not a great brand collaboration

With the discontinuation of Sora, OpenAI will also wind down its partnership with Disney that was announced in December. A spokesperson for Disney said that the media ‌giant respects "OpenAI's decision to exit the video generation business and to shift its priorities elsewhere."

As part of the three-year agreement, Disney was set to invest $1 billion in OpenAI and was allowing the AI startup to use characters from Star Wars, Pixar and Marvel franchises in Sora.

What a waste of two great rom com actors. Why not write them a script tailored to their strengths, or adapt one of the 100,000 romance books out there? The most successful romances of the last few years have not been reboots; they’ve been adaptations or originals.

It is the anniversary of the My Lai massacre today. I'd say that even more than most years, it's important to remember what happened. And the role Hugh Thompson, an active serviceman, played in both stopping and publicising it. Despite enormous military, political and public pressure to stay quiet.
