People are giving the "satire" in Dungeon Crawler Carl way too much credit. This series is enjoyable. People are right Dinniman absolutely grows as an author as it goes. There are also lots of refreshingly earnest scenes that I appreciate.

Avery's impact on the RPG design landscape cannot be overstated. If you love agame that came put in the last ten years or so, the designer of that game loves Avery's work or cites her as an inspiration. That's because all her games are fucking good. If they are new to you, you're in for a treat.
