I showed the Lesbian Bar article to an elder gay who was fighting for queer rights back in the 70's and 80's and from the look on his face I think it nearly killed him.

as someone who does humanitarian work, i've been thinking a lot about how we overcomplicate it. when, basically, the premise is just that if you're alive now, you deserve to live freely until natural causes take you. we claim neutrality, but that simple perspective is in fact political.

In an age when the Peter Thiels of the world are smiling and saying evil does good because it is competent, we are entering a time when we will need to be aggressively "pro-human." Or at the very least, Pro-Good. And we have to build power, unapologetically.

When people think about humanitarianism, they usually think of the aftermath of a natural disaster and the relief and aid that follow. humanitarianism is too often thought of within the bounds of the NGO industrial complex. But those systems are being targeted and dismantled right now.

Haven't thought this out all the way through, but now would be a good time for an aggressive humanitarian movement to combat the death cults, the rise of AI, and otherwise anti-life impulses coursing through our politics and society.

This is true. In 2016, I got into an argument with a gay man on a menswear forum. I've since made it my mission to make every man dress gay, thereby destroying his ability to tell who is actually gay and, ultimately, his chances of finding love. I built my social media following to achieve that goal
Someone on Twitter writes to me: "People should follow your advise if they want to look gay."

A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind

 A Saint Dies Beside the Nidd
By Jay Hulme - from 'The Vanishing Song'

Prostrate before God a final time
I reach out my arms to the earth.
This stone blooms with the millennia,
this soil burrows with chitinous song;
life bursts from the death of another —
each earthly thing I've loved is fossil-rich,
renewed, re-created, recycled, returned.

Soon, I cannot consider the miracle,
only this moment, so wholly my own.
The breeze in the trees reminds me
of the song of my mother’s womb;
though I’ll only realise that later

— after I’ve gone.

It's great to see tailoring accommodate such extreme movement today. This level of tailoring was a bit more common in the past, as you can see in old films featuring Fred Astaire or Gene Kelly, but many modern suits will lift off the wearer's neck even when they're just walking.

To educate children religiously requires a quietude of mind and sympathy in their guardians, with the state of the good seed in them, which will lead rightly to discriminate between good and evil; to discover the corrupt source of many seeming good actions; and to perceive that a real innocency is the root of others….

Here we see the necessity of true wisdom being renewed, and the insufficiency of that which is carnal, and boasts its own experience and strength. It is the humbled mind to which is unfolded such mysteries of true godliness.
