In macOS 27, Apple’s move of the app switcher to appear in whichever display has the mouse pointer, rather than staying in the default display with the dock, is dizzying my eyes.

@savestandard.bsky.social An example, We're still on DST here near Santa Fe New Mexico USA, and on the day after the Fall solstice the sunrise was at approximately 7 am and the sunset at approximately 7 pm. Noon came 5 hours after sunrise and sunset came 7 hours after noon.

As a science communicator, nothing has prepared me for the confusion among some pro-DST folks. How do we gently explain that moving the clock hands does not move the sun - or turn 13 hours of daylight into 14?😅

There is no “Standard Daylight Time”. There is Standard Time (the clock set by the sun), and there is Daylight Saving Time (the clock set an hour fast).

In “The Truman Show” (1998), the nearly full moon is seen close above the setting sun. At that lunar phase, the moon should have just risen in the opposite side of the sky. Astronomy class was apparently omitted from Truman’s school.
