It's late. Let's just play the Cubs halves of the next three innings back-to-back-to-back and only require the Padres to bat again if they need to

"That's just unhittable." YES BECAUSE IT WAS LIKE A FOOT OUT OF THE ZONE

A reminder that the Cubs signed Jed Hoyer to a "multiyear" extension 105 games into the season last year

The Cubs might be better off if they had a position player pitch

Can the Cubs use a designated hitter for Dansby Swanson and just take a chance with the pitcher?

A Cubs run! In the wild! In this economy!

They just want to be able to prove in a few years that they weren't at a Vikings game

If you are being critical of a Muslim mayor for wanting to confront antisemitism, it sure makes it sound like your problem is with Jewish people for being Jewish

The hit will do it for me. I would watch if I thought there was any hope for a comeback. Get them tomorrow, I guess

Becoming Brandon @becomingbrandon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

The Cubs are 11-13 in September. Just not playing well. Simple as that. Not a good team right now

000

Boyd is the one pitcher the Cubs needed to be able to not worry about

000

Becoming Brandon @becomingbrandon.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Don't worry. The Cubs can always get some help from the bullpen and we are completely doomed aren't we

Just think about it: Two years from now, a witness before a congressional committee will be asked whether they attended tonight's game between the Giants and the Patriots

Dearest Mother, It has been a fortnight since the iced coffee at a job interview discourse, but I still believe danger stalks us. We are alert about the enemy, and at night I am certain that I can feel its presence. But a quick search in the morning reveals nothing to dread. Remember me to father.

This is appropriate. I don't think he should necessarily be kicked off the team, but throwing a punch in a game has to be taken seriously

The Padres broadcasters were voicing both calumny and backhand praise for "Go Cubs Go," and I'm sorry y'all don't have a song, but we will die for ours

Whoever is next in the Oval Office will need to communicate to the European elites and publics that the American Republic is no longer willing to accept a role as Europe's servant. The American demographic has altered dramatically in the aftermath of the two European world wars. Europe is no longer a mother country for most Americans, and especially for our youth. The shared identity which took American Doughboys and GIs to Europe is a thing of the past.

Rather, whoever inhabits 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue next year must think in terms of "America First," even if they not enunciate it, because the U.S. electorate outside the Washington Beltway thinks that way.

Today will answer one of the most eagerly-anticipated questions of the season in MLB: Will a sub-.500 team make the playoffs in the American League? Could happen!

Last night was the third-largest loss of the Shane Beamer Era and the worst since 2022. (There's a "so you're saying there's a chance?" bit for you if you want it.) This is not going in the right direction

At this point, I would not object to the entire South Carolina team, coaches and all, being ejected from this game

They made the right call on the replay, but I have seen plays overturned on a lot less evidence

Becoming Brandon @becomingbrandon.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

That was a nifty two-point play. Mostly succeeded because of player effort

It was deeply unfair to saddle Sellers with an offensive coordinator who could not maximize his skill set at a critical point in his development, and I'm not sure you can ever regain that ground

For reference, Alabama scored 38 points in the first half against East Carolina and has scored 35 points in the first half against South Carolina

000

Becoming Brandon @becomingbrandon.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

This could quickly turn into the most humiliating game for South Carolina since 63-17

Does South Carolina have defensive backs on the field? I'm asking because I never see one of them near a receiver

I will give lifelong admiration to any reporter who asks Beamer after the game: "What do you think you, specifically, should be doing differently?"

South Carolina is averaging one point for every time it has been in Alabama territory

I expected to lose this game, but South Carolina has already exceeded my expectations
