Got around to watching The Invite tonight, really impressed with it in on every level. The pacing, the flow, the direction, the performances, the script, all of it felt raw while being expertly crafted. That's not an easy trick to pull off.

No one should apologize for writing using complex vocabulary or atypical structure or sentences or experimental approaches, especially in this day and age. There is also an argument to be made that sometimes traditional approaches unwittingly support the status quo. (Note I said sometimes.)

Crin's Castle
The first page of an article from the May 1988 issue of ST-Log Magazine, describing a fantasy text adventure in which you are a knight set to retrieve the magical Flame Sword from the evil Crin. This ST BASIC program was written by Brad Mott, who is 17 'but has owned a 1200XL for almost four years" and who "plans to learn C very soon."

fantastical drawing of a Eurhinosaurus, an aquatic reptile which looks similar to a dolphin but also has hind-flippers. It is colored in shades of yellow and brown with small spots like a ripe banana.

Started drawing hands and it turned into monsters. Also Slewfoot is a really great read, you should check it out.
black and white drawings of two hands, one is scaled like an alligator, one is black tipped with sharp claws with fingers spread out. below are two sketches of black, goat headed creatures, gangly, with long limbs. One appears lazily jumping and has a horned goat head, one is shadowed, with a long furry neck, sitting, with skinny limbs.

I've said it before: I genuinely consider it a moral imperative that people my age and up bang the drum about what the Internet used to be so those younger know that there's nothing inherent about what it is now. The Internet doesn't have to be this; its culture can and has belonged to people.

Sometimes I think about all the things I was told by wise teachers, writers, editors and agents could never sell and were cliches no one should write but which now dominate bestseller lists. Basically, write what you want to and what you feel passionate about. No one knows what will sell.
