🔎 Connaissez-vous les french tissues ? Très en vogue à la fin du XIXe siècle, certaines photographies stéréoscopiques étaient doublées d'un tissue pouvant être coloré afin de changer l'atmosphère de la photo d'origine lorsqu'elle était regardée à contre-jour. En voici un exemple : c.bnf.fr/YGQ
Ici, les photos originales prises place de la Concorde en 1870. On y distingue l'une de ses célèbres fontaines à droite, ainsi que l'obélisque, l'église de la Madeleine et l'Hôtel de la Marine en arrière plan.Sur cette vue à contre jour, le bleu et le jaune probablement ajoutés sur le papier de soie collé derrière la photo la colore afin de donner l'illusion d'une photo nocturne. Les points blancs représentant les lumières de lampadaires et le reflet de l'eau jaillissant de la fontaine sont des trous réalisés dans l'image par lesquels la lumière s'infiltre. Le dessin de ballon avec une nacelle dans le ciel de l'image est lui aussi dessiné sur le tissue caché derrière. D'où son invisibilité sur les photos de jour.

I'm sorry I haven't been as present on Bluesky and my site (I do have a post scheduled for later today). My cat has been in and out of the ER for a urinary blockage and various side effects... lovely. I've sort of realized how important my cat is for my mental health. He's my library companion.
