It doesn't take much editing to make xkcd 2501 about #MinCup. marshdeer.github.io/xkcd2501-gen...

Custom variant of xkcd comic 2501: Average Familiarity.

[Ponytail and Cueball are talking. Ponytail has her hand raised, palm up, towards Cueball.]
Ponytail: Minerals are second nature to us MinCup fans, so it's easy to forget that the average person probably only knows graphite and halite.
Cueball: And quartz, of course.
Ponytail: Of course.
[Caption below the panel]
Even when they're trying to compensate for it, experts in anything wildly overestimate the average person's familiarity with their field.

I softened a little reading the descriptions & I'm not *as* salty towards cuprite as I have been up to now. There's still an obvious choice to me, in that quartz can protect cuprite from weathering. Clearly I am not immune to propaganda.

Things that make me laugh: Every time #Quartz has been in the #MinCup finals, it’s been against a mineral with the composition X₂O. This is particularly funny as ice and #Cuprite are the only two minerals with this composition, & ice took #MinCup19. Win some, lose some? Or history repeats?

A series of Reddit posts and replies the top post says are all male D&D groups still that common? D&D gender diorama graphics routinely say that female identifying players make up between 40 to 60% of the player base.

Someone replies to that comment and says my current group was all mailed the first time we played. Now it's 50/50. There have been no changes in the roster

The final post comes in with a joke that says the teams have been Auto balanced

Quartz is a common mineral, with some very important and uncommon properties. One is piezoelectricity. When quartz is squeezed, it generates an electric charge. Together, quartz and earthquakes can promote the formation of gold nuggets, that can be quite large. #Quartz #MinCup26
