Jorge Morales @jorgemorales.me · 22/09/2026Oh ok. I'm surprised! I would have thought that screenshotting and analyzing would have messed up the RTs (humans can do this super quickly but image analysis is still somewhat slow, or so I thought). 110
Jorge Morales @jorgemorales.me · 22/09/2026But the zero shot, specific performance is annoying, especially for the dots. I wonder if a visual task using images (with no cue in html or file name) would be doable. Too expensive to analyze images. 110
Jorge Morales @jorgemorales.me · 22/09/2026I'm not surprised about the attention and comprehension checks (I don't think they really work for humans either). 110

Jorge Morales @jorgemorales.me · 22/09/2026This is interesting. But my hunch is that if it's too complicated for LLMs it is also very complicated for humans. This is why I in general don't like attention checks. If too easy, they can be gamed. If too hard, well meaning participants can fail it. 120
