Representing my country means everything to me. I have the utmost respect for every single one of my team mates, the Manager, his staff and the Irish people

However I have reached a decision that I have hot taken lightly. I am a man of strong faith and try my best to be a person of character and principle therefore 1 feel it would be wrong to participate in the upcoming fixtures against Israel.

My decision is based purely upon my personal belief that the killing of innocent people is wrong.

It is important to note that my stance is not in opposition of the Israeli people or the Jewish community but against the atrocities in the region.

There are few times where you get a chance ir ife to stand up for something bigger and strongly believe that this is one of them

It is kind of amazing the way City, partly because of rather than in spite of things like the 115 charges, have been the neutral’s choice most of last decade. Almost the more divorced from reality they were, the fewer feelings they invoked - esp compared to original PL Big Four.

I don’t really see the point in ‘stripping’ titles. It doesn’t do much. But they blatantly and deliberately cheated for years, and by doing so distorted the whole competition. The punishment should effectively keep them uncompetitive for the same length of time

It seems unlikely Manchester City will be punished in a way that adequately addresses almost a decade of systemic cheating used not only to win silverware but also to build an illegitimate foundation as a platform for continued success. But this is a modicum of vindication.

A club guilty of a decade-long scheme to submit false financial information to the league, for the purpose of securing an unfair on-field advantage, should not only be thrown out of the league and have all its titles vacated, its owner should be compelled to sell the club.

The investigations/charges only go up to 2018 but make no mistake: everything - absolutely everything - that City have done in the years since was built on the foundations of these breaches as well. And everything they continue to do in the coming years. There is no separating these things.

Kevin Crawford, 91, and his wife Kathleen, 82, said that they had booked in for a two-week stay at the hotel.

The couple, from London, told the BBC that they were in their room on the sixth floor when they heard a fire alarm.

Nothing new but it really stands out how bad Arsenal are in transition. It’s not just a pace thing but a weight of pass, and decision making issue as well. There is rarely any conviction in how we approach transition moments and it’s been an issue for ages now.
