A federal IT staffer filed a complaint about DOGE, then went public. Shortly after Elon Musk boosted a post calling his claims false, his brake lines were cut. Now he’s suing for defamation.

DOGE has a very obvious feedback mechanism for its cuts.

If DOGE makes a big, broad cut against a million programs, people get upset about a few specific, very good ones like PEPFAR, and then that program comes back because DOGE's members are, thus, informed it was good.

I can only hope people realizing this won't damage the mechanism, because it's still useful to have professionals getting mad about some very good thing getting cut before it's brought back online as a result.

In a word, DOGE is responsive, which is unusual for the government!

I agree, but it would be more efficient to spend one hour ahead of time talking to experts or just reading up on the history of a program for [disease, student testing, nuclear safety, etc.]

Plus, some programs don't have famous proponents with time to dig into the weeds.

I'm highly sympathetic, but there really are thousands and thousands of programs and grants to cut, so I'm not sure the small team doing the cuts has the ability to go through them all one-by-one on their short timeline.

Maybe a system can be developed to assist with feedback.

Headlines like this are extremely dangerous. Because moms of young kids are the people who make the bulk of the vaccine decisions for famillies. And for a lot of them, "reading the news" looks like scrolling past headlines on social media in the spare moments of the chaos of caring for kids.
NYT headline saying "F.D.A. Attributes 10 Children’s Deaths to Covid Vaccines:
The agency’s top vaccine regulator said that a review had found that the children were likely to have died “because of” the shots. But public health experts want to examine the data."

I received this email about Democrats caving to end the shutdown from one of the SNAP recipients I spoke to:
I'm sorry, I know this is not your problem, but I just felt like screaming into a void seeing that now Dems may cave and end the shutdown without getting anything they were supposedly fighting for. We've been put through hell for weeks, constantly having our ability to simply feed ourselves dangled in front of our faces, our survival used as a bargaining chip, told it was for a reason. Our suffering would prevent even more suffering and that it would be temporary and worth it to save healthcare for millions. And now it's all for nothing. They stood for nothing. They caused suffering for no reason. They'll cause even more suffering for no reason.

It wasn't 40 million people starving that made them cave. They were willing to put up with that. But the threat of holiday traveling being disrupted seems to be the thing to push them to give in. They have failed everyone. I'm so angry.

“I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.” aphyr.com/posts/397-i-...
I want you to understand what it is like to live in Chicago during this time.

Every day my phone buzzes. It is a neighborhood group: four people were kidnapped at the corner drugstore. A friend a mile away sends a Slack message: she was at the scene when masked men assaulted and abducted two people on the street. A plumber working on my pipes is distraught, and I find out that two of his employees were kidnapped that morning. A week later it happens again.

An email arrives. Agents with guns have chased a teacher into the school where she works. They did not have a warrant. They dragged her away, ignoring her and her colleagues’ pleas to show proof of her documentation. That evening I stand a few feet from the parents of Rayito de Sol and listen to them describe, with anguish, how good Ms. Diana was to their children. What it is like to have strangers with guns traumatize your kids. For a teacher to hide a three-year-old child for fear they might be killed. How their relatives will no longer leave the house. I hear the pain and fury in their voices, and I wonder who will be next.

Understand what it is to pray in Chicago.

The post from the Reagan Foundation is just complete gibberish. The ad did not, in fact, misrepresent Reagan's views. But the idea that anyone needs the Reagan Foundation's goddamn permission to use the publicly broadcast official remarks of a former president and/or edit them for brevity is crazy
The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute learned that the Government of Ontario, Canada, created an ad campaign using selective audio and video of President Ronald Reagan delivering his "Radio Address to the Nation on Free and Fair Trade," dated April 25, 1987. The ad misrepresents the Presidential Radio Address, and the Government of Ontario did not seek nor receive permission to use and
edit the remarks. The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is reviewing its legal options in this matter. We encourage you to watch President Reagan's unedited video on our

WATCH: A huge group of African illegal immigrants are operating a black market on the corner of Broadway and Canal St in New York City.
The entire sidewalk is filled with illegals who state they are from Senegal and I watched as they fled police.
This corner looks exactly like the streets of Paris and the migrants even became angry and tried to tell me I couldn't film (similar to Paris).
As I was reporting, the migrants began scrambling to pick up their items before fleeing into vehicles or on foot due to police presence in the area.
One of the migrants explained to me that they're operating "without a license" and if the police catch them, they'll confiscate all of their items. There were at least 20-30 illegals in the area conducting business that they know is against the law, however, this seems to be a common occurrence on this street and business is booming.
Perhaps @ICEgov should go check this corner out

🇬🇧 Starmer Demands UK Admit Israeli Fans Known for Racist, Anti-Arab Chants

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is pressuring officials to overturn a police ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans attending their Europa League match against English club Aston Villa in Birmingham, despite the group’s record of violent clashes and racist anti-Arab chants at previous games.

West Midlands Police had barred the fans, citing “high-risk” security concerns and last year’s Amsterdam riots, but Starmer called the move “the wrong decision.” He insisted the government “will not tolerate antisemitism” and said police should guarantee entry and security instead of placing restrictions.

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has been directed to work with the Home Office to find a “way through” the ban — a move critics, including the local MP, believe prioritizes Israeli fan optics over public safety and accountability.Number 10 is working on "changing" the decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from a football match in Birmingham over safety fears.
