The funniest thing about the Schmitt rake stomp is that if it'd been a Dem we'd have a week of think pieces about how Dems lack of hoops literacy was alienating them from real America.

Funniest part to me is Jack Smith using 110% of his lawyer brain. He avoids making the connection himself; he doesn't even say "Hawkeyes," he just says "Iowa." He knows it's better to let everyone figure it out on their own. He also knows from Klobuchar's grin that she'll dunk it for him.

When blocking laws that make it easier for people to vote, the Supreme Court has repeatedly emphasized that courts can't interfere with voting rules close to elections. Weirdly, now that Trump is trying to take over mail-in voting 10 weeks before the midterms, the Court has forgotten all about it.

Just hours after Judge Marks denied SPLC's motion to dismiss for vindictive/selective, SPLC filed a motion to compel for records on all the help they offered FBI. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...
The Superseding Indictment charges that the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC)secretly
used donor funds to pay informants “engaged in the active promotion of racist groups[.]” ECF 51,
Introduction. Information in the government’s possession showing the opposite—that the SPLC
utilized informants to disrupt and dismantle these groups—constitutes exculpatory material that
must be produced to the defense. Evidence demonstrating that rather than seeking to conceal the
existence of its informant program, the SPLC actually shared information generated by that
program with law enforcement is likewise material and favorable to the defense.
Documents showing the SPLC’s coordination with law enforcement exist, and the
government could readily collect and produce them. That should have happened without the need
for a request or this motion. It did not. Instead, the SPLC has repeatedly sent the prosecution
detailed letters identifying the type of information sought and the basis for deeming it exculpatory.
Each time, the government has refused to fulfill its obligation to collect and produce that material,
rejecting the particular requests at issue here.
