Really insightful piece. I found this section especially incisive with respect to the bad faith in which a trans panic is being fomented using sports as a wedge:

As a middle-age trans woman, this is not an issue that personally impacts me. In fact, most trans people I know do not engage in competitive sports. And if you offered the trans community as a whole some kind of deal, where we got to keep our healthcare, legal protections, and our rights to exist and participate freely in society provided that we sacrifice our ability to play sports, many would probably jump at that chance, despite how much it would devastate the trans athletes among us.

But let’s be clear: Nobody is offering such a deal. Trans sports bans are not intended to be some kind of concession or compromise position. Rather, they are a stepping stone toward further bans and restrictions. This is why trans people almost unanimously oppose them. And it’s why you should to.

this is the thing: the risk of denying a legitimate voter the chance to vote is far more damaging to democracy than the risk of letting someone vote who should not. The country has a long history of voter suppression and so little history of real voter fraud. So, yes, the GOP court is corrupt AF

The transiest thing I did pre-transition, was to only be willing to act in a church play if I got to be in one of the 2 roles cast for the boys to crossdress. I got especially excited when they originally planned to get real dresses sized to the actors.

This is important to remember as we change the sort of social media platforms we use. A "like" does nothing on a platform with no algorithm. It just sends good vibes to the poster. Good enough for many cases, but if it's a creator you want to help, reposting is the way to do that.

Since Republicans know it’s harder to make liberals & centrists openly agree with a pro-white, anti-everyone-else message, they instead create divisions between groups. They did this by making it seem like trans people were hurting women. Now they are doing it with Jews, Black people, and Muslims.
