If you are curious about quantitative and predictive cell date decisions landscapes but our 14 figure paper seemed just a bit daunting, have a look at James' linked summary.

NEW PREPRINT! An evo-devo look at how new cerebellar nuclei are made. Spoiler: it’s all driven by region-specific excitatory progenitors in the early rhombic lip; inhibitory neurons fill in later. If you care about brain evolution or cerebellar development, check it out: tinyurl.com/CNdevelopment

I did a few different things but one was reading papers in systems / types of questions I found interesting. And if possible going to conferences where I could meet these people. Although I argue against large conferences, I found them (and their lunch with speakers) useful at that stage.

Gregory J. Hannon (1964–2026)
Gregory J. Hannon passed away in April 2026 at the age of 61. A towering figure in modern molecular biology, Greg influenced remarkably diverse areas of science. His work reshaped our understanding of gene regulation, advanced the discovery of tumor suppressors that regulate the cell-cycle machinery, and uncovered fundamental mechanisms of RNA interference. By establishing core principles of small RNA biology, he not only transformed our mechanistic view of RNA-silencing pathways but also pioneered functional genomics approaches that revolutionized basic and biomedical research in mammalian systems.

Is this a regular commuting cargo bike but sturdy enough for not just roads? For weekend rides I have mostly seen the "carriole" type where the kids get dragged behind but that's why less sociable. (This is my dreaming as I can't fit either in my tiny appartment)
