The star of BritBox's comedy mystery said he always dreamed of being on television and has now been able to act in every genre he's loved, from sitcoms to panel shows.

Specially STEM scientists. The world is too complex for the US government to go about without relying on physicists, engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists to guide them as they make police. Otherwise people like Yudkowsky will fill that void

Scientists in the US have lost a practice of being involved in politics. The reasons for this are complicated, but we cannot afford to sit out of policy discussions any longer. This is honestly painful to watch. Yudkowsky is basically the RFK Jr of math and computer science. This is most ominous!

I have a theory about how many of the world's problems are caused by people who were told they were the smartest people alive as kids, believed it, and then when they became adults and couldn't accept that maybe they weren't that special, started breaking shit if only to prove they were special

As a former pretentious little shit who grew out of it, rationalists (et al) annoy the piss out of me because they are adults with the mentality of tweens - they are somehow still convinced they are the greatest geniuses who have ever walked the earth. It is the worldview of an arrogant baby.

like I suspect many of you on This Website, I think a core reason why I find Eliezer Yudkowsky and his rationalist and effective altruist satellites so intensely annoying is because I had a VERY similar “being a super weird, pretentious, hyper-literate kid” experience - I just, you know, grew up.

We show that dust EB cannot explain the signal in the joint analysis, and that retrieving β=0 would require both the dust EB modeling and instrumental priors to fail simultaneously. However, systematics need to be better understood before drawing any conclusions. 2/n
