As someone who's a queer sports vet at this point, there's something special seeing people who played sports to mask themselves growing up or were too uneasy to ever take the plunge due to insecurity thrive as their authentic selves. Sports shouldn't be gatekept and the gatekeepers are wrong.

I think a lot of people lost faith in buying this specific car because GM announced it was only producing them for a year. Doesn't send a very compelling message for long term support & reliability

This thing had very little marketing and they said they're only producing them for a year, I'm sure that has an effect on sales. I wouldn't buy a car under those circumstances.

Toyota's unease at being associated with the Taliban and Al Qaeda is evident. In its September statement, the company said,
'Toyota does not have a sales or distribution channel in Afghanistan, and we do not export vehicles to that country."
Somewhat less laconic was Wade Hoyt, Toyota's spokesman in New York, who put the best corporate spin on the situation this week.

The Comdex episodes of Halt and Catch Fire season 1 are so good. I still have the finale to watch, but episodes 8 and 9 where they're prepping for the event and then attending, and then the reveal at the end of episode 9, oof... Lightning in a bottle! Some of the best TV I've ever seen.

The wide ranging impacts (even up to this summer's transfer window!) of their cheating makes it impossible to have any sort of "fair" consequence other than kicking them out or dissolving the club. They've fundamentally altered the entire league in a negative way
