“Let’s not talk politics, it might put people off” might be a defensible guideline for Thanksgiving dinner, when Uncle Bill & Cousin Deborah can’t resist going at it over vouchers or something. But for a public figure at this particular historical moment it’s just cowardice.

If you have a pet that sometimes snags your clothes, or if you're clumsy like me, I've found Dritz Snag Nab It to be very useful. It's a needle with rough grooves on the tail end. Push the needle through the cloth and it'll pull the snag to the fabric's underside, where it will be hidden.
A green plaid flannel shirt with two snags on the face side of the fabric. There's a Snag Nab It needle next to the snag. The same flannel shirt, but the snags have disappeared. A photo of the underside of the cloth. The snag is now on the underside.

I appreciate that Dolly Parton refused to participate in "dress respectability" and, by her own account, modeled her aesthetic after a town "tramp," who she thought was beautiful. She separated aesthetics from character and understood "classiness" to be about how you treat people, not how you dress.

Refusing to certify the results of elections should automatically prohibit you from holding public office plain and simple. If you can't recognize the legitimacy of elections, then why should you be able to use them to gain power?

Personally don't recommend these. As the article notes, these properties are typically achieved through PFAS, which can shed carcinogens in your home (which you then inhale) or come out in the wash (polluting waterways for decades). Will try to do a thread on how to treat stains in the wash.
