In many red states, it's simply a question of whether you can get Trump's endorsement. So we wind up with idiots like Eric Schmitt, Tuberville and Darline Graham, if she wins I mean, Georgia Republicans nominated Herschel Walker because Trump told them to, for G-d's sake. And he almost beat Ossoff

Multibillion-dollar schemes like A7 are much easier when the United States simply gives up on countering Russian sanctions evasion. The Kremlin agent gloating in this story could show a bit more humility. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/24/b...
During the Biden administration, the Treasury Department made cracking down on sanctions evasion a centerpiece of its effort to punish Russia. The department imposed thousands of additional sanctions, targeting companies and networks designed to move money around financial restrictions.

The pressure has largely disappeared. Since President Trump returned to office, the administration has removed more restrictions than it has added, according to a Times analysis of Treasury data.

That has made it harder for banks to screen for illicit activity, in part because new actors and organizations can spring up without fresh information. A7 shell companies, for example, have facilitated payments to companies that banked at major American and European banks, The Times found.

There was a time when the benefit of capitalism was supposed to be variety. Now thanks to private equity, there’s basically only a few dozen companies to provide consumer goods and services in the US, and they’re all owned by the private equity firms, all morphing into a grey monotony.

This seems like a pretty big deal: donors made illegal contributions to Susan Collins and then were awarded lucrative contracts after her office intervened with the Navy. An FBI investigation was dropped under Trump. www.propublica.org/article/fbi-...
To skirt campaign finance laws and conceal the source of the funds, Navatek planned to funnel the donation through a shell company. The CEO wanted assurance that Collins would know where
the money came from. Reed confirmed that she would, the executive said - and that Navatek would get its government contracts.
After the Corner Bakery meeting, Navatek's CEO, Martin Kao, sent an initial $150,000 to the Collins super PAC using the shell company. Two months later, he told Navatek executives that Collins committed to getting the company $32 million in naval contracts, according to an internal company email reviewed by ProPublica.
