The cell wall is cut away to show many complex, fluid internal structures, including the nucleus and gemstone chromosomes separating after replication, mitochondria with little internal ribbed membranes, the endoplasmic reticulum, and many more. Cell wall is steel, organelles are bronze, mitotic spindle is silver, and the gemstones are apatite, which gets its blue-green color from phosphorus--the element that forms the backbone of DNA.
