![Dear Council Member [Last Name],
I hope you are well.
I am writing as a constituent to express my concern about the proposed FY27 Metro budget and its impact on funding for homeless services, particularly support for day shelter operations at organizations like St. John Center.
Day shelters provide critical, life-saving services for individuals experiencing homelessness, including a safe place to rest, access basic needs, and connect with resources. Reductions in funding for these essential operations could result in decreased hours or limited access, directly affecting some of the most vulnerable members of our community.
I respectfully ask that you consider the importance of maintaining-or restoring-funding that supports day shelter services.
Ensuring access to these resources is vital to the health, safety, and dignity of our neighbors.
Thank you for your time, leadership, and commitment to our community.
Sincerely,
[Your Namel](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:kyssxk455wyqgeahpgqe4vqu/bafkreiamzl7gxd4uwqvfxxi3dvo2dsfp5i7gwnrzk3dax35orinkubecmu)
