I don't think this this has anything to do with AI. I just finished on two big productions and use of AI never came into play. If it's being used, and I'm sure it is, it's on the margins. This has more to do with contraction and lack of support from studios.

It's not just that streamers are doing TV but more expensive. They also decimated necessary practices like practical budgets and dependable production schedules. Then, with shortened episode orders & smaller staffs / crews, made it so no one under 40 can break in anymore unless they're connected.

So Paramount+ is doing jack shit to promote it, but the second of AVERAGE JOE is available now. This is a terrific little show. A bit like Breaking Bad in how it relishes in the little details as the stakes escalate. It’s alternately thrilling, scary, and hilarious.

Someone referred to Scream 4 as “Millennial Scream” and I think that’s brilliant. Sandwiched between the Gen X (Irony) and Gen Z (Solipsism) trilogies, S4 is an outlier that’s a solid and prescient horror film, with a young cast slaughtered in the process of trying to live up to their predecessors.
