Transformation Digital Art 2026 – @li-ma-media-art.bsky.social's 10th anniversary international symposium on the preservation of digital art, 26-27 March 2026 li-ma.nl/article/tran... Tereza Havlíková @ezka-ter.bsky.social and Sakrowski speak on Day 1, on THU, 26 March, about "Inserting Net Art".
Poster with a light grey background filled with abstract, organic, puzzle-like shapes in neon yellow and pale purple, outlined in dark lines. Centered in bold, rounded dark purple lettering is the title “Transformotion Digital.” Below and around it, the shapes repeat in varying sizes, creating a dynamic, flowing pattern. On the left, the date reads “26 & 27 March 2026.” On the right, smaller text states: “Annual international symposium on digital art preservation.” At the bottom left, the location is listed: “LI-MA, Arie Biemondstraat 111, Amsterdam.” The overall design is modern and playful, with high contrast between the dark text and bright accent colors.

Union workers solved the trolley problem, you're welcome
IWW IU 520 (Railroad Workers) PRESENTS:

TROLLEY PROBLEM SOLUTION

"Slip the switch" by flipping it while the trolley's front wheels have passed through, but before the back wheels do. This will cause a controlled derailment bringing the trolley to a safe halt.

Same, there is always so much crap with generated code from design software. Also, they never resize properly if you don't add the appropriate attributes manually. Let's not talk about how colour values do not play nice with CSS.

This movie is an uneven mix of 2, 3 maybe 4 things. Feels like I was watching a 2 hour short film showcased in an artsy gallery. Sometimes great, often noisy, sometimes slow and boring. Just like Pavement.

Years ago, likely in the 1970s, my uncle (mom's brother) made a mix tape for my dad. There is no track listing so I'll be using Shazam a lot I guess. It starts with "Heather" by Billy Cobham — ambiant and jazzy. Let's see where this goes!

New book for morning reading. Rosenfeld always publishes useful books to manage design collaboration. The bookmark is a creation from my mom — she creates collages from old magazines.
"We Need to Talk" by Joshua Graves. The cover shows colourful squarish speech bubbles. The bookmark next to the book show small human silhouettes over a dark background with a pink hue coming from the bottom.

In "Every tool's a hammer", Adam Savage speaks to the difficulty for makers to convey their complex mental models to others. This actually applies to every discipline: communicating a skill you perfected over years to people who do not have that background is hard.
MOCKING UP AND COMMUNICATING IDEAS
As makers, we become adept at holding complex concepts and ideas in our heads that we have our own mental shorthand for.
This isn't a problem when we are working for ourselves on projects of our own. But when we're working for someone or with someone, quite often this tendency toward internal cataloging can lead to many of the fundamentals to a project going unspoken because they've become baked into our assumptions about what everyone should already know. But it's important to remember that this kind of knowledge is not so easy for civilians to engage with and process.

"NPS is astrology for mediocre business executives." — @jmspool.bsky.social
screen capture of a linkedin post by jared spool:

Jared Spool: "NPS is astrology for mediocre business executives."

John Griffin: "Discuss amongst yourselves: NPS is stupid and for most services, is a bad way to measure ourselves. It's analytics theater. It's designed so that executives can try to measure something that is inherently intangible so they don't have to talk about emotions or anything "squishy". Trying to affect NPS is like trying to count to purple."

New record find of the day. The Get Up Kid's "Problems" is a good record. Not really their best, but after so many years without them, it's fun to hear them again. They are punkish rock — closer to rock inspired by Bruce Springsteen than 70s punk or 90s skate punk in my ear.
