Good research is difficult and time-consuming because it is done to *challenge* our assumptions. Synthetic users' only purpose is to allow those assumptions to remain unchallenged. They are not "research but faster." They are "going with your gut, but with extra steps to cover your ass."

for _reasons_ I listen to a ridiculous amount of music and here’s how I am primarily encountering AI-generated music: via autoplay and similar automated queues w/in streaming platforms, often with some amount of seemingly fraudulent trappings of metadata that can’t be verified on discogs etc
