I worked for the landscaping company of a friend’s dad when I was 16. It was my first and only manual labor job that was meant to last three days shlepping pre-potted plants for an exhibition. After the first day every bone in my body hurt and I quit on the spot.

The number of times in the last few months I’ve wanted to yell “we can’t even fucking piss!” at people is uncountable. Being angry is exhausting, leading cis folks through this bullshit is exhausting. Too many people seeing this as a minor HR issue and not mandatory segregation of a minority.

the thing about this is that it's not an unqualified good, even though loads of programming tooling is based on this premise. a great deal of doing good programming work is determining at what level of detail/abstraction you ought to be addressing a problem
