How do you do CI for mobile? Does it work well? I’m curious about the state of the art these days.

I’m a big believer that the best way for governments to regulate social media is to insist that a high percentage of the content you see in algorithmic feeds is from your actual friends (and maybe groups you’ve joined)

I honestly can’t even believe I painted this. I’m blown away. I stood up and backed off from the painting and it looked like water for real 😳🤩 I painted it with bright light directly on the easel (right image), so the colors (left image) were a little surprising, but otherwise so proud of myself

These golden hour cliffs were fun to paint. I enjoyed playing with using yellows/ochers for the sunny spots and purples for the shadows, but overall “trop travailler”. I need to learn to make the minimum number of marks, and trust the viewer to fill in the rest. 12th oil pastel painting.

View of my painting setup. On the left a color and black and white print with values numbered. Top right:initial color study. Bottom right: scrap paper for learning how to make rocks look like masses with shadows rather than lines on a sheet. Top right: value chart from light to dark. Below: wooden box of pastels and “limited palette” (ended up choosing more) on a paper towel above. Giant rubber tree crowding behind. Sunny room.

I read a book every 2.7 days this year. Kind of wild. And painted 2 pictures per week since I started oil pastels. I’m not goal oriented with hobbies… just I’m a terrible sleeper and I’ve found reading and painting is so much more rewarding than doom scrolling & tv. Twitter dying wasn’t all bad

One Medical isn’t worth its annual fee post Amazon acquisition. They don’t get costs covered by insurance, have 20 minute annual health exams, and can’t schedule appointments until weeks out. I don’t think they understand their value add. If I want disorganized care, I can go to any doctor

11th pastel painting. Depth is getting more depthy! I’ve been focused on trying to learn atmospheric perspective. I still miss being able to mix paints to the exact color I want. I need more greens. I lack dark desaturated, light saturated, blue greens of all values, and some muted yellow greens.

How long until we have vagina checks for women atheletes? The trans-hysteria was always a way to police women’s bodies. Soon vulnerable athletes will be forced to submit to genital checks. Because abuse in sports wasn’t rampant enough already? Yahoo news publishes disgusting lies, harms women

We had moderates. They gave us decades of disastrous foreign policy, eviscerated social safety nets, soaring inequality, privatization, managed decline, and a party so terrified of confrontation that it treated rising fascism as a messaging problem instead of an existential threat.

A lot of people think Title IX is from the 1970s, but the reality of equal opportunity for women’s athletics didn’t really land until 1996. Growing up before that, they wouldn’t have girls teams. Even at the high school level. Colleges had to offer women’s sports in theory, but no one checked.
