Public transport fare hikes - while fossil fuel subsidies remain. Government seem determined to steer us towards car-dependence, if you'll pardon the pun. Cost of living, air pollution, emissions - this is an attack on public health and well-being. www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2026...

- Congestion is much more expensive than investment in PT🚦 - PT is a public service that benefits those worst off the most. 🫶 - Also.. footnote...: the world is burning and subsidising fossil fuels while increasing costs for PT shows utter contempt for both people and planet🔥😡

There are 100s of reasons why this is a bad idea. Here are just some of them: - Reduced PT fares shown clearly to help protect against cost-of-living crisis💶 - Everybody loves the €2 fare💚 - It's made switching between buses much more attractive🚍 www.irishtimes.com/ireland/2026...

I bumped into an old college pal last year in Skerries when I was out there for a family thing She'd moved to Barcelona, had a beautiful fella, everything perfect. And a baby! Which was why she was in Ireland, it was 40°+ in Barcelona, she'd only been able to take the kid outside after it was dark

A sobering read from Conor Dowling here. Glad his family were able to leave and stay safe. Extreme heat and climate breakdown is the new normal but it shouldn't be this way. Children deserve a fun summer holiday! But even more importantly they deserve a liveable climate for their future!

The Liffey is an icon of Dublin, but it’s also a dividing line. It divides the north from the south. There’s politicians in this election who want to further that division. But I don’t think that’s what we are about. When you’re on the Liffey you can see clearly that we are one city and one river.

There is a tacit acceptance in government that it is better for people to die and suffer serious or life changing injuries on a daily basis on our roads than to interfere with road design, slow traffic or stop bigger and more dangerous vehicles being developed. We deserve better.

V good article: "The reason our European peers have seen a 12 per cent drop in road deaths since 2019 in the same time we have seen a 31 per cent rise in ours is because we simply are not using the evidence-based solutions that already exist." www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026...
