This march was designed to spread tensions and hatred, and to intimidate the community and families who live there. Scotland should not be providing policing resources for sectarian events like this that are called to inflame tensions.
The National. Questions over Police Scotland officers sent to Orange Order walk. Scottish Greens are seeking clarity over the role of Police Scotland officers and demanding a review of the agreement that enabled their deployment.

Newspapers should be required to fact check their columnists. Anti-train columnist Colm McCarthy claims that the only publicly available cost benefit analysis of MetroLink is from a preliminary assessment in 2022. An updated cost benefit analysis was published last week.

But it will give the residents of Garvaghy Road a reprieve (for now) as the loyalists will have to apply for a new permit that can take up to 28 days to be granted. It won't stop permission being granted again then fought in court and overturned again of course. This is where we are now *sigh*

They had a short 'walk' down the road this afternoon to test the waters. But turned back once they were told the 'walk could be deemed an illegal parade'. None of this will solve the standoff currently happening, as that is a police matter to disperse the loyalists or not (as it stands).

It appears the loyalists will have to apply to the parade commission to hold another march (legally) on Drumcree Road once midnight passes tonight. The initial permission was given from 8am to 9.30am this morning, any marching after that time would be deemed illegal.

It has, by its own command, caused the podium to be labelled with a sign. “The Arse”
