A new piece from the @ria.ie looks at women imprisoned in Grangegorman’s Female Penitentiary in the 19th century. Opened in 1836, it was the only women’s prison of its kind in Britain & Ireland. Many were jailed for minor offences linked to poverty. bit.ly/4d4ax7J #Grangegorman #DublinHistory

🚧 Update: Works at St Brendan’s Way / Plot 14 🚧 Starting Wednesday, contractors will begin removing the hoarding and putting back the original black fence line. Temporary fencing will go up close to the hoarding to keep the area safe while the job is underway. Thank you for your patience!
