Yesterday’s #NytStrands puzzle had a Spangram of NINETIES TRENDS, but before I found it, I spotted NINETIES CRINGE. I wonder if that was intentional.

I may have a #MNStateFair #superpower! On five occasions, I took one glance at a friends’ photo at the fair and knew just where it was. In one of those cases, I narrowed it down by shadow-angle and showed up minutes later. I’m like one of those Geoguessr savants, but limited to a certain 322 acres.

Who needs a car when you have a cargo bike? (Admittedly, if the furniture were any bigger, I’d’ve needed… a bigger bike!) Bonus - you can drive your vehicle right onto the elevator.

Much equivocating could be made (older car, sedan, America doesn’t make non-car a viable option), but the fact that this bumper sticker is on a car at all, remains ironic. On reflection though, it’s not like the sticker purports to want to do anything about it, just, here’s the facts. 🤷‍♀️

Could my #caucus friends please consider “uncommitted” for governor? So far #Klobashar is the only one running (that I know of) and she is so wrong for MN now. We need a leader who will bring us justice, not “reaching across the aisle.” Her brand of politics is useless these days.

My 8 year old was roleplaying as a time traveler panicking in the back of the car, “what is this thing we are in? This ‘horseless carriage?!’” My 6 year old calmly summed it up well, “It’s called a car. They kill people sometimes, but it’s ok.” That’s the agreement - but it really shouldn’t be.

The busiest bus line in the most populous county in Minnesota is the D Line. These photos were taken within a block of it on either side. Even if sidewalk clearing occurred, parking clearing took precedent. Municipal sidewalk clearing is a moral obligation. Frey opposes it, Schaffer opposes it.

It being #BuyNothingDay and all, I didn’t expect to see anyone while biking to and from my pet-sitting duties, so didn’t sweat the mash of pattern and color that my layered ‘fit was becoming. I ended up loving it though, and had to pause to document and share, so that you may bear witness.

I’m on my third copy of #LifeAfterCars - I keep giving/lending the book out. First to a friend’s kid who is a big @thewaroncars.bsky.social fan and then to my city council member (the right hands!) who had heard of the podcast already. This copy is all mine! …for now.

At the #DavidByrne show, I rocked out to Life During Wartime, awash in the nostalgia of it, paying little mind to the lyrics, as ever; but when they put up video clips of #ICE and the #resistance to it, the song suddenly took on real meaning. How close are we to three passports, a couple of visas?

@ibikedinthis.bsky.social IDK if you inspired me to wear this while biking, but you definitely inspired me to document it. As you can see, I threw on a wool sweater after the show and swapped shoes for the bulk of the ride (the main photo is after biking the three blocks from the restaurant).

I voted today for @mayorcarter.bsky.social for almost all the same reasons. I look around and see progress and know if I want that to continue, he is the person to do it. His focus on the youth is especially a strong endorsement. As my kid says - A-he's a good mayor and B-he's good at playing Tag.

I’ve been furiously sewing this custom witch’s hat for my costume and now that it’s done on time, I’d love to know if folks can guess what my costume’s title is. Hints: 1. I wear dresses pretty much all the time, the fact of the dress is irrelevant. 2. You pretty much need to be local to MSP.
