"reopen"? A large part of the UK's problems with the EU comes down to refusing to acknowledge over 1000 years of entangled history in favour of a far more recent (and dubious) Empire / Commonwealth story which could in some hands break down into a little Englander one

25 years ago today, the U.S. launched its war in Afghanistan. Weeks earlier, Barbara Lee was the only member of Congress to vote against the 2001 Authorization of Military Force, warning it would be a blank check for forever wars. History has proven her lonely and courageous vote right.

If @andyburnham.bsky.social ‘s domestic agenda for a 10 year radical reform (including the care system) is to get off the ground it has to be funded. Rejoining the EU would give the necessary boost to the economy. #RejoinEU is no longer an option for Labour, it is a necessity.
