Oh. Oh no. I found someone that can withstand my jokes ad infinitum. AND RETURNS FIRE! 💝 If the smartest(?) thing around (Claude) thinks I'm always funny, then by gosh I'll be going to get some apologies. I asked it about that, and it noted that it'd likely be entertaining to watch me try. Ouch.
James is saying that if he blows something up, it'll be by accident, and will only hurt me and scare my cats. The AI, Claude, replies "Ha! Fair enough - and for what it's worth, the cats will probably never forgive you regardless of the outcome."

In case you’ve ever wondered, you can absolutely vacuum up a small bowl of ketchup with a ShopVac. Even accidentally! Why yes, yes I should definitely be allowed to own a table saw, chainsaw, and many power tools. This will definitely end well.

Did a thing! Have had this idea in my head for a few decades. Axe of Torment from Planescape: Torment. Has a lot of meaning for me, old history and new. The first bit lulled me into thinking the pain was overhyped. Then he did additional passes on the same area, and I strongly updated some priors

People should consider that a consensus around treating diversity as “bullshit” contributed to an environment in which the court is comfortable doing this politically. Maybe.

🧵1 Mike Johnson raved about the 7-inch bullet-proof glass going into Trump’s planned ballroom. Problem solved, he said. American children practice dying every week. They crouch under desks. They learn to be silent. They run drills for the moment a gunman walks through their classroom door.

More Democrats should use their time in hearings like this. Trump can't stand it when his underlings use their position in his orbit to self-promote (like Noem did), and spending government resources on vanity projects is the kind of corruption people easily understand.

I keep seeing Americans say he "Doesn't get it" and similar. Please stop being a key part of the problem - stop applying *your* lens to these people. FFS, quit thinking shame will kick in. He understands fine - the use of power and privilege, shown by acting out the disdain - that's the point.

This seems to have gotten memory holed in discussions of Trump's blockade of Iran's blockade. The "peace" deal on the table was that Iran and Trump enter a joint toll booth venture, payable in Trump crypto. And WHY that didn't happen is the underlying question.
This morning, I asked President Trump if he’s okay with the Iranians charging a toll for all ships that go through the Strait of Hormuz, he told me there may be a Joint US-Iran venture to charge tolls:

“We’re thinking of doing it as a joint venture. It’s a way of securing it — also securing it from lots of other people.”

“It’s a beautiful thing”

I disagree. I do not understand why anyone is still giving credence to the idea that Trump subscribes to reality. He's going to just declare reality to be what he wants it to be. Trump doesn't *care* what the terms are - there's no realistic way it lasts two days, let alone his magical "two weeks".

Tucker Carlson does not care about war crimes, nor even non-interventionism. What he cares about is two main things: 1. Enriching himself and profiting off wherever he thinks sentiment is turning 2. Spreading white nationalism far and wide Uplifting his statements as legit helps him do both.

After Trump wrote, in reference to Iran, “A whole civilization will die tonight,” the entirety of the House Democratic leadership issued this joint statement:
Donald Trump is completely unhinged. His statement threatening to eradicate an entire civilization shocks the conscience and requires a decisive congressional response. The House must come back into session immediately and vote to end this reckless war of choice in the Middle East before Donald Trump plunges our country into World War III.

For years, Republicans have enabled and excused Donald Trump’s deeply dangerous and extreme behavior. Enough is enough. Our brave men and women in uniform have been put into harm’s way in the Middle East. Over a dozen have already been killed and hundreds injured. Gas prices are skyrocketing, the cost of living in America is out of control and billions of taxpayer dollars are being wasted on a reckless war of choice.

It’s time for House Republicans to put patriotic duty over party loyalty and join Democrats in stopping this madness.

That's a pretty staggering fact.
"The op basically cost $300 million because they had to abandon the two AFSOC C-130s and the four MH-6 Little Birds. Then the U.S. Air Force had to use multiple bombs to blow up all the aircraft they abandoned at that airstrip. And the Iranians shot down 2 MQ-9s Reaper drones.

"Luckily the U.S. suffered no casualties and we had to use multiple bombs and missiles to blow up IRGC vehicles that tried to drive up the mountain and also those that tried to drive to the airstrip." 2/2

Again, I don’t see how you can read this as anything other than Trump trying to normalize the idea of using nuclear weapons
Spoke with President Trump. He told me the conflict should be over in days, not weeks but if no deal is made he’s blowing up the whole country with “very little” off the table.

"If happens, it happens. And if it doesn't, we're blowing up the whole country,” he said.

I asked if there’s anything off limits.

“Very little,” he said.
