I do yin yoga and somatic practice which is doesn't have the twisty and bendy as much. I used to not have the patience for any sort of yoga, but injuries have made me revisit and I'm glad I did. :-)

Looking forward to a few yoga based things this week. Attending a workshop by Chef Richard LaMarita on veggie cooking. He's big on Ayurveda which I know little about, but curious. Also, I'll be leading my first yoga session for a disabled class which is frankly my aim (disabled & the elderly).

You'd think I'd played football with the amount of injuries I've had. Decades of marathon running and to be fair, my body wasn't made for running, as much as I loved it to the point of mega-maras. Rowing and yoga has been a balm. And yet....ACL tear from tripping over a vacuum chord. Lol, ME.

ACL tear update: Knee most likely won't be drained until next week. Which puts my bunion surgery off maybe, but dunno. Life goes on tho! Keeping on.

Oh a hell of a lot better. They have artists communities, recreational centres (skate nights to tour the grounds)....it's all around one of the most beautiful places to visit.

Harbour Square in Toronto reminds me of the Barbican Centre in London, England (which also houses Riman ruins), in its brutalism and greenery around it. The Barbican continues to fascinate me as I read about the many things I didn't get to see while in there.

Despite an ACL tear (still waiting for a call to get my knee drained), still doing ttc commutes. Nothing opens your eyes wider at how inaccessible Toronto is when you are disabled. So does motherhood with a stroller or having an autistic kid with sensory issues. But the physical aspect is hard.

Sorry, I am in between 3 appointments today before I pick up kiddo, and I found this passage interesting after my Europe trip, cuz it's always in the back of my brain when I'm back home in Toronto.

My Hometown
We travel great distances to gawk at the ruins of once-great civ ilizations, but where are the contemporary ruins? Where in our world are the ruins in progress? Where are the once-great cities that are now gradually being abandoned and are slowly crum- bling, leaving hints of what people from the future will dig up and find a thousand years from now?
I am on a train passing through Baltimore, where I grew up. I can see vacant lots, charred remains of burned buildings sur- rounded by rubbish, billboards advertising churches, and other billboards for DNA testing of children's paternity. Johns Hop- kins Hospital looms out of the squalor. The hospital is on an isolated island situated slightly east of downtown. The down- town area is separated from the hospital complex by a sea of

David Byrne's Bicycle Diaries during my kiddo commute. His perceptions of cities are incredibly inciteful. Relate to his love of exploration by feeling lived in a city through its transport and accessibility. I love this book. I am very much anti-car, at least as in they chop up cities.

My artscape building's community has had its garden certified as a wildlife-friendly habitat by the Canadian Wildlife Federation. I'm campaigning to keep some bees for honey next year. Excited!

Docs won't replace my knees until I'm 65 or 70 (the replacements last 20 years before going through it again, so I get it). It's management and strength training until then. Just wish there were better ways of dealing with osteoarthritis/arthritis in general. Every day pain shouldn't be a default.

While going through security on my flights my hands were swabbed, knee braces analyzed. Was it the color of my skin? My look? I soon realized the pin in my knee (not my piercings tho) set everything off. It's funny cuz I'm doing stuff with another ACL tear atm & can I get robot knees already now?
