Hello #portfolioday I'm a freelance artist & gamedev with a biology background. I provide concepts, assets, illustrations, and paleoart. I'd like to illustrate a book. Here's some art and if you like it, follow me, support my game, and share my work so I can get a job. #illustration #art #gamedev

Private client commission for an unreleased game concept.A group of strap-toothed whales discover a weird, GameBoy like, electronic object at the bottom of the sea. Illustration painted on Colors Live.A cartoony illustration of a clumsy and oblivious Euoplocephalus breaking stuff in a store. Oryctrodromeus are trying to rescue some falling items, while a perching on a rack Troodon is surprised by the happening. There are lots of easter eggs hidden in the picture. It's only bloody #PortfolioDay again!! I'm Jack, I paint dinosaurs, characters, monsters, etc. Had a fairly active year but a lot of the work was private comms or secret projects! Hope to reveal some soon.
Baryonyx, a fish eating theropod dinosaur, walks along a rocky beach. It has found the washed up remains of a small plesiosaur, which I bet smells absolutely awful.Unfortunate fishermen have snagged a wrathful mermaid with their hook. She is not happy.Dimetrodon, an ancient relative of mammals, stands about roaring dramatically. It was for a trading card, don't think about the logic too much here.Black and white portrait of a Utahraptor, a large, feathered predatory dinosaur. There is a severed human hand in its jaws. Yummy.

Totally not sad that I don't own some of these.. Going for a vaguely early medieval style but there's some that look a bit more modern and some like the seax that are comparatively grandad's knife compared to the rest but I'm not fussed, was more focused on aesthetics. [#dealbh]
Illustration of a collection of woodworking hand tools, roughly based on several medieval and middle ages finds, but not designed to fit one precise time period. The set includes chisels, measuring tools, auger bits, a saw, a draw knife, a seax, a bowl adze, a broad axe, and a mallet.

A friendly woodsman troll. These fellows are ultimately responsible for open groves of well established trees. Of course this results from them knocking down the younger growth.
A sketch of a troll, based on primates including macaques, this creature has a bulbous nose, clefted tusks, and pig-like ears. The woodsman troll is a browsing herbivore that primarily feeds on pinecones, berries and woody browse. They will often knock smaller trees down, and keep forests from becoming too competitive.

Hello #PortfolioDay ! I'm Adam and I'm a freelance illustrator/ concept artist. My work tends to focus on the natural world (past and present), creature design and spooky things!
A digital painting depicting a pod (3 visible individuals) of Perucetus colossus (a giant prehistoric Basliosaurid whale). This piece is in a fairly realistic style with naturalistic colours and lighting. The enormous animals are swimming away from the viewer, obscuring their heads slightly. Their reflections can be seen on the water surface, and the ocean floor is visible beneath them. The overall background has a somewhat dark and murky look.A piece of concept art depicting an aquarium exhibit for a prehistoric creature. Tiktaalik is a fish from the Devonian period showing the earliest signs of tetrapod-like limbs which could hint at a more amphibious lifestyle than other fish alive at the time. I decided to make my Tiktaalik enclosure semi-outdoor and have lots of trees and plants, areas where the animals could climb onto land as well as multiple fresh-water pools and a waterfall.A small gathering of Dearc sgiathanac fly over the sunny coastal cliffs of Scotland during the middle-jurassic period (when scotland was much warmer!). Digital painting/ illustration"As temperatures rise and glaciers thaw, things that were once long-buried become revealed to the world..."

A photo-composite/ paint-over piece created for Valdevia's 'Cursed Files' art challenge, based on the prompt "Buried". The strange, alien skull/face/structure emerging from the snowy mountain is an homage to the work of HR giger.

Some portrait sketches done over the past couple days to use as examples for commission work! Intended to be kinda generic ttrpg/fantasy characters - I love getting character comms from people, they're always so enthusiastic about their lil doods!
A greyscale portrait of an elf of some kind, she has eyeshine like a dog, and there is a semicircle of bright dots above her head.A greyscale portrait of a fantasy human. He has dark skin and a large beard, and is wearing a doublet of some sort and a striped chaperon hat with feathers in it. He is smiling at the viewer.Sketch portrait of a dragonborn - he is spiky and snaggle-toothed, but he wears a blue ceremonial robe with gold fastenings, and a blue veil with white knotwork covers much of his face. There is a gold string tied between the largest of his horns.A sketch portrait of a tiefling character. They are roughly middle aged, and have dark, greying hair, orange skin, and lopsided horns. Their clothes are a simple high-collared shirt with pleated sleeves and a red scarf
