This is the thing. If AI is supposed to save you time for the things that Really Matter, and reading a book to your baby is not something that Really Matters, then what are you doing? These guys really just want AI to live their lives while they grind Kalshi and Polymarket all day every day.

Did you know you only need a small brain to make silly little drawings?

4 panel comic:
Panel 1: pink blob guy on a table, pencil in their hands. Grey circle on a piece of paper and a glass of water on the table. They say “look here”
Panel 2: Proudly, they hold up the drawing of a grey blobby character on two stick legs up in the air. The pink blob says “I drew this!”
Panel 3: Satisfied they sit back down on the table. They now go “it’s not much, but..” The grey drawing looks a bit peeved because the drawer is calling it “not much”
Panel 4: But it’s okay, because now the pink blob is very pleased finally. He says “it came from my brain!” Holding the pencil up. The grey drawing blob is happy again, too. End well, all well!

I wish people understood that TV writers: 1. *Have* actually thought more about this than even the most die hard fan. 2. Are beholden to time, money, and owner constraints that fans will never be aware of. 3. Are extremely likely to already be aware of any critiques because (see 1) but (see 2)

this is genuinely hilarious. meta you stupid sack of shit

screenshot of an IG post of my no ai stickers with the caption “Your periodic reminder that everything I make is 100% drawn, written, and designed by me, always!”

meta has slapped a disclaimer on it that says “this content was likely created or modified with Al This label is based on Meta's automated detection signals. These signals suggest Al was likely used to generate or modify this content.”

a mobile screenshot to show the full sticker to really drive home how ludicrous that is lmfao

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

Becky's maybe got one from falling off a fathier when she was learning to ride or something, but I haven't really thought about that too much, so nothing's ever been made officially canon there yet.

Jeremy has a self inflicted one on his left wrist from when he was young, which he's embarrassed about and has covered it up with tattoos. Kandri probably has many small ones from various scuffles, but the only one I've canonized is the bite mark on her forearm. IYKYK. 😅

(trigger warning: self-harm in followup) Tal has various scars from training & combat, but his biggest one is under his armpit where something caught him where his armor ends. He's not even sure what happened, which leads him to assume it ties into the missing memories that the FO wiped from him.

A few months ago I got to design the staff t-shirt for The Hobbit x MTG! I relished painting some of the pivotal characters and elements of the story. The stylization is inspired by Tolkien's own paintings, and I wanted it to look as though Bilbo had drawn these things in his book.

A stylized collection of images from J. R. R. Tolkien's The Hobbit. Featuring characters Smaug, Bilbo, Beorn, and Gollum, and artifacts like the One Ring, Thorin's Key, the Arkenstone, and Sting.

Right? Reading about that felt like this one time I read a salty comment from some (likely very young) fan responding to Twilight criticism from Stephen King, going "What does that guy even know? How many movies have been made from his books like hers?" and I still think about it decades later.
