I don't have many followers here, but for those of you doing qualitative work on transcripts I cannot recommend Zotero enough. Just import your file as a .pdf and you can highlight, annotate, tag, and make connections between transcripts. Took me a long time to find something that works so well!

It's always amazing to me how many people there are who either just don't like music, or who like it in a way (e.g background noise) that dislocates it from any sort of meaningful cultural exchange with the people who make it. This is just a new form of that phenomenon.

Yeah, it requires some patience - best advice is to buy something on there that you want, and then you have a feeling for how people will navigate to, and choose what you're selling, based on balance of quality/price/shipping combinations. A lot of sellers set price far too high!

I sell on there regularly, and sometimes buy there too. Once you get the hang of it, it works pretty well!

Just wanted to share a picture from this week’s “Self in the Social World” conference in Heidelberg where I had a lot of fun nerding out about RPGs and mental health (so much so, I talked through the Q&A time) Also wearing my critical roll t-shirt to be on brand 💅
It’s a picture of me (the beautiful brunette on the right) in front of a screen with the opening slide of my presentation “Affective Play: Why Collaborative Roleplay is Beneficial for Mental Health”. It has a blue boarder and features a series of different D&D type characters.

Perinatal mental health support in England used to stop when a baby turned one. GP records from 2m+ pregnancies: 5.9% had recorded mental illness in year two, over half new. 📂 Need is likely higher. Not everyone seeks help. buff.ly/RKJXPYy #PerinatalMentalHealth #MaternalMentalHealth

AI is a normal technology entangled with a normal demon. Leaving aside intentional use to make bad things worse, the former is going to produce normal accidents (some of which will be extremely bad) and the latter is going to continue making people lose their minds.

The Facial Expressions of Tethys by artist Julius von Bismarck. A suspended high-sea buoy that moves in real time. Sensors on a twin buoy out in the Atlantic Ocean send live satellite data to motors inside the museum. This makes the indoor buoy copy the exact, real-time movements of the ocean waves.
